LAMINATE Installation

We know just how exciting new laminate installation is and we encourage our clients to explore these valuable considerations to ensure an efficient process.
Follow these steps before, during, and after your new laminate installation to minimize displacement and aid the installation crew for fantastic, finished results.

Before Laminate Installation:

When preparing for new laminate installation, take these key steps beforehand:

  • Remove all furniture, electronics, wall hangings, and items from the rooms and closets receiving new laminate floors.
  • Complete all new painting and paint touch-ups before laminate installation day.
  • Since many laminate products offer floating installation and can be installed over an existing floor, you may not need to remove the current floors!
  • Once your subfloor has been professionally assessed and any needed repairs are completed, you are cleared for laminate installation.

During Laminate Installation:

On the day of your new laminate installation, make sure to consider the following:

  • Plan for an adult to be home to answer any questions that arise for the installers.
  • Designate an area for the crew to keep laminate installation tools and saws, keep boxes of material, and saw planks to size as needed.
  • Keep all children and pets away from the rooms receiving new laminate floors and the designated worker’s area.

After Laminate Installation:

After your new laminate installation is complete, follows these helpful guidelines:

  • Wait for the specified amount of time before walking on new laminate floors and returning furnishings to the rooms.
  • If your new laminate was installed as a floating floor, it may be ready for light foot traffic right away!
  • Always lift furniture or use proper moving equipment with rollers to avoid scratching the surface.
  • We recommend using felt protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to reduce impact.
